Use Cases

Bio Fonts

Styled text sized and spaced for profile bios.

Short answer

One styled element goes further than several. A styled name on the first line with plain text beneath it reads far better than an entire bio in cursive, and keeps your bio searchable.

What works in a bio

Bios are short and read at a glance, so one styled element goes further than several. A styled name on the first line with plain text beneath it reads far better than a whole bio in cursive.

How much is too much

A profile bio is read in about two seconds, usually on a phone, often while scrolling. That is the constraint everything else follows from. One styled element gives the eye somewhere to land; three compete with each other and the reader resolves the competition by moving on. If you are unsure whether a second styled line is helping, it is not.

A layout that reliably works

Styled name on line one, plain role or location on line two, plain call to action on line three. The contrast between the styled first line and the plain lines beneath is what creates the hierarchy — remove the plain lines and the styled one stops standing out, because there is nothing left for it to contrast against.
